Erica-Denise Solomon concedes State Senate District 35 race, thanks supporters for building a strong, policy-driven movement

Erica-Denise Solomon, Democratic candidate for the vacant Georgia State Senate District 35 seat, Wednesday released a final statement conceding the Special Election following the November 18 vote.

The campaign earned 17.29% of the total vote, securing 2,720 votes in a highly competitive, crowded field of six candidates. The race will advance to a runoff election between the top two finishers, Jaha V. Howard and Roger Bruce.

In a statement, Solomon thanked the voters and reiterated her commitment to service that defined her campaign:

“Tonight's results are not what we hoped for, but my commitment to the people of District 35 is unwavering. I extend my sincere congratulations to my opponents Jaha Howard and Roger Bruce and wish them success in the State Senate Runoff.

To my family, my Nana, my friends, and every volunteer: thank you for investing your time and faith in a campaign rooted in purpose and progress. We built a historic movement by focusing on the real-life struggles of our neighbors: from being priced out of their homes to needing better career pipelines.

This special election may have concluded, but my dedication to service has not. I am proud of the foundation we built, and I promise you: This is not the end of our story. I will continue to serve our community, and I look forward to working toward the 2026 election to ensure our voice is heard.”

The campaign urges all voters to remain engaged and prioritize participation in the upcoming runoff election on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

“The Special Election is not over. District 35 still needs a representative who will fight for their interests. I urge everyone who believes in our democracy to mark your calendars and ensure your voice is heard in the December runoff,” Solomon added.

Solomon remains committed to serving the residents of South Fulton and Cobb County and will continue to advocate for the principles of Our Story. Our History. Our Future.
