Erica-Denise Solomon signs pledge supporting Congressional term limits

Erica-Denise Solomon, Democratic candidate for the vacant Georgia State Senate District 35 seat, Wednesday announced her commitment to pushing for greater accountability in Washington by signing the U.S. Term Limits pledge.

Solomon joins the national, non-partisan movement seeking to limit the terms of U.S. Senators and House Representatives. The pledge requires state legislative candidates to commit to pursuing an Article V Convention for the sole purpose of enacting term limits on Congress. This method is viewed as the best chance to bypass the current political establishment and impose the change citizens overwhelmingly desire.

“Our elected officials should be focused on serving the public, not serving themselves,” Solomon said. “As a State Senator, I will gladly cosponsor and vote for the resolution that hands the power back to the people and requires accountability in Washington.”

The U.S. Term Limits pledge signed by Erica-Denise Solomon reads: “I pledge that, as a member of the state legislature, I will cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution applying for an Article V convention for the sole purpose of enacting term limits on Congress.”

The need for action is urgent, as term limits can only be imposed via a Constitutional Amendment. Solomon is committed to seeing Georgia join the 34 states necessary to propose the amendment through an Article V Proposal Convention of state legislatures.

With Early Voting closing Friday, Nov. 14, the campaign urges voters to cast their ballot for a candidate committed to transparency and accountability in government, both in Atlanta and Washington.
